Busy week...

Daddy just found out that he's going to be gone most of the first part of February (which since it's a short month means that he'll be gone half of the month!) so we are scrambling to get stuff done and organized in preparation. Pants is staying home with him tomorrow to have some daddy time and I am sure they will bicker most of the day and be telling on each other when I get home :) She's been busy and we are hoping to get her VERY FULL playroom organized when he's gone...... There's also a really cute one of her in the car sleeping with her sunglasses on on her way to Nana's!

Sophie's new chair...

Per Nana's very firm request to post pictures since I didn't get to it last night...here are some first moments of Sophie and Pants playing with the new high chair (from Nana). She loves to pretend to feed her and loves her up lots. It's pretty cute!

Pigtails and Sophie...

Sorry it's been a while! Daddy was gone all last week and we've been busy! Pants opted to test out pig tails after her trial run with pony hair a couple of weeks ago...it was adorable but only lasted one night. We've also been bitten by the American Girl bug here and visited the Mall of America store last night to look for a new outfit and accessories for Sophie. Mind you that Daddy was not totally for getting her a doll since she obsesses over the one at Nana's house....but he was the FIRST one to find the adorable raspberry outfit we ended up getting. He'll never live that down!!! She is the most loving mommy to Sophie. When we got her in her new outfit last night she picked her up and told her how cute she was and that she loved her! (She gets a lot of practice at Auntie's house with the new baby that comes too!) Notice all of the random trinkets as I like to call them. She's been so into stuffing her wagon and purses with crap and lugging it around only to unload it everywhere!! We are always finding little things under the ottoman and chairs! Hoping it's just a phase......

Yes, That's what I said. If you don't want to read about our #2 problems, I'd suggest you skip this one! After 4+ days of Pants holding her #2 in, I took her to the Dr. He made me feel better by telling me I'm not the only one he's talked to about this problem. Apparently "Stool Withholding" is fairly common. Luck of the draw that it happens at our house! Auntie has been very patient with her and we have been trying to ask her if she feels all right or if her tummy hurts, etc., but yesterday she wasn't too into eating so I decided that since she normally eats like a horse, it was time. My all-time fear was that they'd have to give her an enema. Not my idea of fun. Dr. Miller was very calm and explained things very well, felt her tummy and found no signs of anything mass like. He told me to get Miralax. It's an OTC white powder that you can mix with water or anything that is odorless, tasteless and I give to her once a day. It will help soften her stool and eventually have it not be such a traumatic experience for her since she probably relates the potty and pooping to hurting, etc. SUPER FUN! After a month of giving her that I have to check in with the Dr, he said if all is well and everything seems to be moving along smoothly and efficiently, we/I should keep her on it for 6 more months until all systems are back to where they should be and she won't feel like she has to hold it in. All this after the horrendous week of sitting in traffic and snow, cold, ice and Daddy being out of town. I am ready for the weekend!!!! ANY HEW--lo and behold after I dropped her back off at Auntie's she took a nap and pooped in the potty all be herself!!!!! One step in the right direction. Hopefully after giving her the first dose of Miralax tonight by the weekend it will be doing it's job.......... hey-at least she didn't see me sneak it into her water and shake it up and she even drank all 8 oz. of it! Small steps!! Yes, it's pretty exciting around here let me tell you!! I can tell she feels better though as she was ready for bed early and ate 7 mini pancakes and mac & cheese with a hot dog tonight.

Tribute to My Benny......

We were organizing pictures on the desktop, etc. tonight and I found our file of Bennett. He was my first born. I got him from the Humane Society in 2005. He had some major health issues but I loved him to pieces. He loved Daddy and he was also very protective of his baby sister. He left us on April 22, 2007. I miss him every single day and we still have pictures of him up in our home. Here's a few of my favorites. For those that knew him they loved him and Nana took very good care of him too. There were many a weekends she would meet us halfway and take him for the weekend. We love and miss you Bennett~

"Pony Hair"

Yes, that's what I said....pony hair. Miss Pants calls it that and was adamant all weekend about having one so this morning she asked Auntie to borrow a pony hair holder and had one pretty much all day. It came out when they went outside to play so there was no way she wanted to put her hat on to go home with daddy in caution of it coming out yet again. She pretty much looks like Pebbles from the Flintstones (especially with the comb-over in front!) We love her to pieces especially when her silly personality shows through! (Yes, that is ketchup on her face)

More vacation pics I missed

I think I got caught up in getting them all downloaded and forgot to post a few more! Here's our first adventure to Long Beach Aquarium..... We went in to feed the Lorikeets and Pants FREAKED when 4 of them landed on my shoulders! (complete with frantic crying)

Yunch time

Not a typo--That's what it's called in Miss Pants' kitchen....Yunch. Too cute. We've had that cook outfit since our last Christmas in California and she FINALLY willingly put it on and wore it most of the day!! We've had a peaceful weekend at home today, anticipating a storm that never really hit, but mommy got lots of organizing and budgeting done and Pants got a nice relaxing day and a nice long nap! Daddy left this morning to bring the plane back from Aspen and got stuck in the snowstorm so he won't be back until tomorrow afternoon. Bummer, but he's glad to be flying.

Happy New Year!!

We had a nice relaxing day today as a family. As exciting as we are, we were all snugly in bed by 9:00 PM. And surprisingly enough we all slept until 9 this morning! I think we are still coming off of California time and needed the long sleep. Secretly wishing it was Friday today and we had 2 more days at home but back to reality for tomorrow at least. Daddy takes off this weekend again and Pants and I have a quiet weekend planned. We are traveling to see Nana since it's the longest it's ever been in the last 2.5 years that she's gone without seeing her girl.....almost 3 weeks! So we have a long weekend planned for lots of time with Nana and Nana Great! We did venture out in the snow today for a few minutes to sled, but Little Missy was all about being inside playing. Sad that less than a week ago we forgot what snow looked like!

This was the trip to the Palm Springs Air Museum to see Santa fly in to visit with the kids. Pants was not too interested in sitting on his lap but waved to him many times. Auntie She-Sha also painted all of our names on a plane inside the museum. Daddy was bummed he missed out but I am sure there will be many more times we visit it! (Apparently the plane is a Steerman....)
